Through the universal language of art, The 8th House would like to present a means to a more open conversation on death & dying. Our collective of artists who's handcrafted memorials challenge today’s silence around this uncomfortable subject. By embracing the Georgian & Victorian traditions of mourning keepsakes and the ancient practice of the Memento Mori, we aim to create daily reminders that not only honor the memory of loved ones, but also remind us that “we too shall die” and return to a greater entity. Be it the earth, the cosmos or an afterlife, our unique ability to contemplate our impending mortality is what connects all of humanity.
