Hibernia Myofascial Release exclusively treats clients with John F. Barnes Myofascial Release (JFB MFR). Deirdre Murray is a Licensed Massage Therapist and Advanced Level John F. Barnes Myofascial Release Therapist. JFB MFR works on the body’s fascia (connective tissue). Fascia is like a web, completely connected throughout the entire body. It surrounds and interfaces with every single cell of the body. When we experience trauma (physical or emotional), surgery, accidents, injuries, repetitive strain, poor posture etc., the fascia becomes restricted. These restrictions clamp down and pull on pain sensitive structures likes nerves, blood vessels, muscles and bones causing pain, discomfort, headaches, lack of mobility and so on. JFB MFR applies a gentle, sustained pressure for a minimum of 5 minutes without use of lotions or creams, allowing a true release of the fascia.
